What's the difference between n8n and Zapier?
n8n is open-source, self-hostable, and has no per-task pricing. It supports complex branching logic, custom code nodes, and runs on your own infrastructure. Zapier is simpler but gets expensive at volume and limits what you can do. For complex or high-volume automation, n8n wins.
Can you integrate n8n with our custom internal API?
Yes. I use n8n's HTTP Request node or build a custom node for cleaner reuse. If your API needs authentication (OAuth, API keys, JWT), I handle that too.
Can n8n workflows include AI — like GPT or Claude?
Yes. I regularly build workflows that call OpenAI or Claude at specific steps — for summarization, classification, content generation, or decision logic. The AI output then drives the rest of the workflow.

Yes. I deploy n8n on Docker with a PostgreSQL backend, set up SSL, configure credential encryption, and establish backup routines. Much more reliable than n8n Cloud for production use.
